Question

A godown measures 40m×25m×15m. Find the maximum number of wooden crates each measuring 1.5m×1.25m×0.5m that can be stored in the godown.

Open in App
Solution

Volume of the godown = L × B × H
= 40 × 25 × 15
Volume of the godown = 15000 m³
Now,
Volume of one wooden crate = 1.5 × 1.25 × 0.5
Volume of one wooden crate = 0.9375 m³
Total number of wooden crates that can be stored in the godown = Volume of the godown/Volume of one wooden crate
= 15000/0.9375
= 16000
So, the total number of wooden crates that can be stored in the godown is 16000
