Question

A Hill, 101 13 m in height, has 14th of its height underwater, what is the height of the hill visible above the water?

Open in App
Solution

Given , height fo the hill =10113m=(101×3)+13=303+13=3043m

Height of the hill under water =14 of the height of the hill
=14×3043=763m

Height of the hill above the water:

= Height of the hill - height fo the hill under water
=3043763=2283=76cm

Hence height fo the hill above the water is 76 m

OR

Fraction of height of the hill above water =114=414=34
So 34th of the height of the hill is visible above water.

height of the hill above the water =34×Height of the hill
=34×10113=34×(101×3)+13=34×3043=76m
