A horizontal copper disc of diameter 20 cm, makes 10 revolution/s about a vertical axis passing through its center. A uniform magnetic field of 100 G acts perpendicular to the plane of the disc. Calculate the potential difference across its center and rim.

The correct option is B 3.14 mV
Given:

Magnetic field, B=100 G=102 T

Radius of disc, r=d2=0.1 m

Frequency of rotation, f=10 revolution/s

ω=2πf=2π×10=20π rad/s

Now, emf induced between center and rim is,

E=Bωl22=Bωr22

=102×20π×0.122=3.14 mV

Hence, option (B) is the correct answer.
