(ii) Classification based on action of drugs on a particular biochemical process:
Painkillers, antiarthritis medicines, local anaesthetic agents, etc.
(iii) Classification based on chemical structure:
Alcohols, ketones, hydrocarbons, esters, amides, lactones, phenols, etc.

b) Histamine in the stomach stimulates the secretion of hydrochloric acid and pepsin. Antihistamines prevent the interaction between histamine and receptors in the stomach wall, releasing less amount of acid. Histamine contracts smooth muscles and relaxes other muscles of blood vessels of stomach walls, it is a potent vasodilator. Examples of Antihistamines include ranitidine, cimetidine, terfenadine (Seldane), brompheniramine (Dimetapp) etc.
c) The structural formula of sleep producing barbiturate Luminal is as shown in the image.
