(A) Chemistry plays an important role to provide us with the things of daily use like toothpaste, soap, detergents, paints, clothes, medicines, fertilisers, plastics.
It also plays a major role in manufacturing the consumer products like glass, paper, pencil.
It is also used during prepartion of substances used in defence like gunpowder, T.N.T etc.
(B) (a) Marie Curie is a 20th-century scientist who worked on radioactivity. She was awarded the Nobel prize in physics and chemistry for her contributions to radioactivity.
(b) Alfred Nobel was a Swedish chemist who discovered dynamite. Alfred Nobel also instituted the Nobel Awards for individuals who have contributed to the development of humankind.
