When light ray is passed through a beaker having a colloid of milk, blue light is scattered more than the red and the outcoming light is reddish in colour. A light ray passing through clear water faces no scattering and hence, incident light colour is preserved. Therefore, the final light ray coming out of the two beakers is red.
