Solution

Form an equation of the line:

Given the line passes through 8,4

So, x1,y1 is 8,4

Also the slope of the line is m is equal to -34

The formula for the equation of the line using slope-intercept form is y-y1=mx-x1

Substitute x1 as 8 , y1 as 4 and m as -34

y-4=-34x-84y-4=-3x-8Multiplying4onbothsides4y-16=-3x+24Solvetheparentheses3x+4y=16+24Adding3x+16onbothsides3x+4y=40y=-3x4+10

Hence, the equation of the line is 3x+4y=40y=-3x4+10.
