Look at the figures and write ‘<’ or ‘>’ between the given pairs of fractions:

$\frac{1}{6}\square \frac{1}{3}$

The concept of number line can be used here, where the distance between 0 and 1 is divided into "d" equal parts where "d" is the denominator of the fraction.

As we go from left to right on the number line the value increases.

$\frac{1}{3}$ is to the right of $\frac{1}{6}$.

$\therefore$$\frac{1}{6}\begin{array}{c}<\end{array}\frac{1}{3}$.
