A luggage cabin can hold only 3 bags. How many bags can 26 such cabins hold?

Open in App
Solution

Let us find the total number of bags.

Number of bags a luggage cabin can hold =3
Number of cabins =26

Total number of bags =Number of bags in each cabin×Number of cabins
=3×26

3×26 means 3 lots of 26. We know that 26=20+6.
Hence, 3 lots of 26 means 3 lots of 20 and 3 lots of 6.

Let us represent this using rods and blocks.

Total number of bags = 78 bags

Hence, option C is the correct answer.
