Solution

The correct option is A 40 km
Let distance be x Kmph and speed y kmph
Now, according to question,
xyxy+3=4060.
3xy(y+3)=23 ...................................(i)
xy2xy=4060
Divide (i) by (ii)
2xy(y2)=23 .........................(ii)
Divide (i) and (ii)
y(y2)y(y+3)=23
3y26y=2y2+6y
y212y=0
y=0,y=12
From (i)
Substitute value of y=12 in (i)
3x12(12+3=23
x=40 kmph.
