Solution

Finding the amount of money each son got

Given, the ratio of Jack, John and Sam in money =3:5:1

And the total money=9,99,900

Let the share of Jack, John and Sam in money be 3x, 5x and x respectively, where x is multiple of money.

Then, the total money =3x+5x+x=9x

9x=9,99,900

x=9,99,9009

x=1,11,100 [On dividing numerator and denominator by 9]

Share of Jack in the money =3x=3×(1,11,100)=3,33,300

Share of John in the money =5x=5×(1,11,100)=5,55,500

And, the share of Sam in the money =x=1,11,100

Hence, Jack, John and Sam will get 3,33,300, 5,55,500 and 1,11,100 respectively.
