Let us assume the initial salary to be x.

The increased salary = x+10% of x = x+10x100 = 110x100

According to the question,

New increased salary = ₹ 1,54,000

110x100 = ₹ 1,54,000

x = 100110×1,54,000 = ₹ 1,40,000
