A man of mass 60 Kg is standing on the floor holding a stone weighing 40N. What is the force with which the floor is pushing him up?(g=10 ms−2)
Weight of man = 60x10=600N
Total force exerted by the feet of the man on the ground= 600+40=640N
According to Newton’s third law, as feet of man exert 640N on floor, floor in turn exerts equal force on the man.
