Solution

For the first article, we have,
S.P=Rs.375 and Gain=25%
C.P=100100+Gainpercent×S.P
C.P=Rs.(100100+25×375)=Rs.300

For the second article, we have,
S.P=Rs.375 and Loss=25%
C.P=100100Losspercent×S.P
C.P=Rs.(10010025×375)=Rs.500
Total cost paid in buying the two articles
=Rs.(300+500)=Rs.800

Total S.P=Rs.(375+375)=Rs.750
C.P>S.P. So there is loss given by
Total loss =C.PS.P=Rs.800Rs.750=Rs.50
Hence, loss percent
=(LossC.P×100)%=(50800×100)=614%
