Question

A man starts from a point and goes in 10 metres towards east then he turns towards north goes 24 metre and finally stopped find the distance between starting point and endpoint

Open in App
Solution

He forms a right angled triangle with base=10m and height=24 m and the distance between starting point and end point is equal to the hypotenuse of this triangle.
(hypotenuse)^2=(base)^2+(height)^2
So (hypotenuse)^2=(10)^2+(24)^2=676
hypotenuse=√676=26m
So the distance between starting point and end point is =26m.
