Solution

The correct option is D 4:1
HCOOH1molConc.H2SO4CO1mol+H2O

H2C2O41molConc.H2SO4−−−−−−−Heat+CO1mol+H2O

Let a moles of HCOOH and b moles of H2C2O4 be present in the original mixture.
Moles of CO formed =a+b
Moles of CO2 formed =b
Total moles of gases =a+b+b=a+2b
CO2 is absorbed by KOH and the volume reduces by1/6th.

Moles of CO2=a+2b6
or b=a+2b6
or a=4b
or ab=4
or a:b=4:1
