Solution

A metal nitrate on heating gives yellowish brown gas, nitrogen oxide (NO2) . The reaction is :
2Pb (NO3)2 Heat 2PbO + 4NO2 + O2 (Decomposition reaction )
A = Lead nitrate (Pb (NO3)2 )
B = NO2
C = O2
Pb (NO3)2 + 2KI PbI2 + 2KNO3 (Double displacement reaction )
D = Yellow precipitate of PbI2
Lead metal is used as an alloy.
