Solution

The correct option is B Mn2+
Manganese nitrate reacts with excess sodium hydroxide to form a white precipitate of manganese hydroxide. This precipitate is insoluble in excess NaOH. The reaction is given below:
Mn2++2OHMn(OH)2
When bromine water is added, brown precipitate of MnO(OH)2 is obtained.
Mn(OH)2+[O]Br2(water)−−−−−MnO(OH)2(brown)
On reaction with disodium hydrogen phosphate solution in the presence of ammonia, manganese nitrate forms a pink precipitate of Mn(NH4)PO4.
Mn2++NH3+HPO24Mn(NH4)PO4(pink)
Hence, the cation is Mn2+.
