The correct option is C Mn>X>Ni
Given that:
X+NiSO4Ni+X2(SO4)n
and X+MnSO4No reaction
Thus Ni2+ has higher reduction potential than X while Mn2+ has lower reduction potential than X.
Reduction potential is the ease of gaining electron by the salt of metal ions and get reduced to respective metal.
Since X can displace Ni2+, its reducing power is higher than Ni metal and X cannot displace Mn2+, its reducing power is lower than Mn metal.
Order of reducing power of the metals are thus:
Mn>X>Ni
