The correct option is A towards the plate

By induction, negative charges appear on the near side of the particle (to the metal plate), creating positive charges on the other side.

Thus, the electric force on the side A will be attractive (towards the plate) and on side B will be repulsive (away from the plate).

But side A is nearer to the plate, so force on that side will be greater in magnitude. Hence, there is a net attractive electric force on the particle towards the plate.
