A metallic sheet is of the rectangular shape with dimensions 38 cm $\times$ 26 cm. From each one of its corners a square of 4 cm is cut off. An open box is made of the remaining sheet. Find the volume of the box.( in $c{m}^3$)

In order to make an open box, a square of side 4 cm is cut off from each of the four corners and the flaps are folded up.
Thus the box will have the following dimensions.
Length = (38 - 4 - 4) cm = 30 cm
Breadth = (26 - 4 - 4) cm = 18 cm
Height = 4 cm
$\therefore$ Volume of the box formed
= $l\times b\times h=(30\times 18\times 4)c{m}^3$
= 2160 $c{m}^3$
