Solution

The correct option is A 9
Quantity of milk with the milkman
= 7 L
= 7 × 1000 (1 L = 1000 mL)
= 7000 mL
Quantity of milk that the milkman needs to supply to each house = 750 mL
750 mL when added 4 times becomes 3000 mL, so from 3000 mL 4 houses can be supplied milk.
Hence we can write,
7000 mL = 3000 mL + 3000 mL + 1000 mL
From 3000 mL 4 houses can be supplied milk.
From the last 1000 mL, only 1 house can be supplied milk, and 250 mL of milk will be left out.
Total number of houses which got the milk = 4 + 4 + 1
= 9
