A milkman purchases milk at the rate of Rs. 12 per litre and then mixes 25 per cent water to it. Find his profit per cent, if he sells the mixture at Rs. 15 per litre.

The correct option is A 56.25%

Let x litres of milk be bought.
Cost price of x litres of milk =Rs12x

Quantity of milk after 25 % of water is added =x+25100x=5x4 litres


Given,
Selling price of 1 litre of milk =Rs15
=> Selling price of 5x4 litres =Rs5x4×15=Rs75x4


Now, Profit % =S.P.C.P.C.P.×100=75x412x12x×100=754848×100=56.25 %
