Solid camphor goes directly from solid state to gaseous state on absorbing heat. This process is called sublimation.

Since, only camphor sublimates and common salt does not, this mixture can be separated by sublimation. On heating camphor will convert to vapours while common salt will be left behind.

The vapours can be collected and condensed into a separate flask.
