Solution

The correct option is C 4.0×105 Nm/rad
Given:

Number of turns, N=100

Area of each turn, A=2.0 cm2=2×104 m2

Magnetic field, B=0.01 T

Current passing through the coil, I=10 mA=10×103 A

Deflection in the coil, ϕ=0.05 rad

The torsional constant of a wire used in a moving coil galvanometer is,

C=NIBAϕ

Substituting the values,

C=(100)×(10×103)×(0.01)×(2×104)0.05

=4.0×105 Nm/rad

Hence, option (A) is the correct answer.
