(a)

Disease: This can be described as any kind of deviation or change in the normal self of a person and discomfort in the body showing certain signs and symptom is a disease.

Microbes can cause various harmful diseases in humans,

Common cold: It is caused by a virus called the Rhinovirus. It can spread via droplets in the air released while sneezing or coughing.

Cholera: It is caused by a bacteria named Vibrio cholerae. This disease gets spread by the means of contaminated food or water.

Chickenpox: It is caused by a virus named Varicella zoster. This disease can spread by coming in close contact with an infected person.

Malaria: It is caused by protozoa named Plasmodium. This disease spreads by the bite of a female anopheles mosquito.

Tuberculosis: It is caused by a certain bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It can spread by air droplets similar to the common cold due to sneezing, coughing, etc.

(b)

Communicable diseases: These are diseases that can easily spread from an infected individual to healthy individuals in various ways.

The steps that should be followed in order to prevent that spread are,

  1. Handle & Prepare Food Safely. Food can carry germs.
  2. Wash Hands Often.
  3. Clean & Disinfect Commonly Used Surfaces.
  4. Cough and Sneeze into a Tissue or Your Sleeve.
  5. Don't Share Personal Items.
