The correct option is B Decreases by 1%
Let the number be x
10% of x=x10
Given, the number x is increased by 10% .

Hence, the increased number
=x+x10=11x10

Now, 10% of 11x10=11x100

Now, the number 11x10 has to be reduced by 10%

So, the final number
=11x1011x100=110x11x100=99x100=99% of x
Effective change
=x99x100 =x100
=1100x=1% of x

Thus, the number is effectively decreased by 1%.
