Question

A particle is projected up with an initial velocity of 80 the ball will be at a height of 96 from the ground after

Open in App
Solution

Initial Velovity = U0 = 80feet/second.

Height = H = 80 feet.

Acceleration due to gravity = g = 32 feet/s2.

Using kinematic 2nd equation.

H = U0t + at2/2.

96 = 80t -32t2/2.

t2 -5t +6 =0.

Solving above equation We get

t = 2seconds and 3 seconds.

It means when particle goes to upward direction then at 2seconds it is at 96 feet height.

and at the returing time at 3seconds its height is 96feet.
