Charge =2×108 Coulomb
Electric field =20,000Vm1
Given, mass =80mg=8×106kg
charge =q=2×108C
Let T be the tension in string and θ is the angle if string with vertical.
In equilibrium
Tsinθ=qE(1)
Tcosθ=mg(2)
Divide (1) by (2) we get
tanθ=qEmg
tanθ=2×108×2×10480×106×10
tanθ=0.5
θ=tan1(0.5)
θ=270
Now,
tension, T=qEsinθ=2×108×2×104sin270=8.8×104V
