Given length of wire $= 2 \frac{3}{4} m = \frac{11}{4} m .$
It broke into 2 pieces.
length of 1 piece $= \frac{5}{8} m .$
length of second piece $= \frac{11}{4} - \frac{5}{8} = \frac{22 - 5}{8}$
length of second pices $= \frac{17}{8} = 2 \frac{1}{8} m$
