$$\begin{gathered} =\left(2\frac{3}{4}-\frac{5}{8}\right)\mathrm{m} \\ =\left(\frac{11}{4}-\frac{5}{8}\right)\mathrm{m}\mathrm{L}.\mathrm{C}.\mathrm{M}.\mathrm{of}4\mathrm{and}8=\left(2\times 2\times 2\right)=8 \\ =\left(\frac{22-5}{8}\right)\mathrm{m}\left\{\left[8÷4=2,2\times 11=22\right]\mathrm{and}\left[8÷8=1,1\times 5=5\right]\right\} \\ =\left(\frac{17}{8}\right)\mathrm{m}=2\frac{1}{8}\mathrm{m} \end{gathered}$$
Hence, the other piece is $2\frac{1}{8}\mathrm{m}$ long.
