A pot contains 82 litres of pure milk. 13 of the milk is replaced by the same amount of water. Again 13 of the mixture is replaced by that amount of water. The ratio of milk and water in the new mixture is?

Initial quantity of milk = 82 litres
After the first replacement, composition of the mixture is as follows: 1643 litres of milk and 823 litres of water
Again, one third mixture is replaced with water:
Quantity of milk removed = 23×823=1649 litres.

Quantity of water removed = 13×823=829 litres.

Remaining quantity of,
Milk = 16431649=3289 litres

Water = 823829+823=4109 litres

Ratio of milk:water = 328410 = 4:5
