Here the angle theta (here denoted as A ) is made with the vertical. Therefore vertical component of velocity be v cosA and horizontal component of velocity be v sinA. There is no effect of vertical component of velocity in this motion.
Because of body moves with a constant speed of v sinA in horizontal direction, the average velocity during this displacement will be v sinA in horizontal direction.
