Solution

Given:-
Mass, m= 600 kg
Average Velocity ,V avg= 20 m/s
Effiiciency , η = 70%=0.70
Power, p=?
Power is the rate of doing work , p= W/t= F*d/t= F* v
P= F V avg= mg* V avg [ F= mg]
P= 600Kg *9.8 m/s^2 * 20 m/s= 117600 Watts
Effiiciency , η = output power / input power
0.70= output power / 117600 Watts
Output Power= 0.70* 117600 watts = 82320 watts
Power in HP = 82320 watts/ 746 = 110. 3 Hp [ 1 hp= 746 watts]
