Length of aquarium = 50cm

Width of the aquarium = 40cm

Height = ?

Initially the aquarium is $\frac{2}{5}$ filled, When 16 liters of water is added,the aquarium is $\frac{2}{3}$ filled.so,

$=[\frac{2}{3}-\frac{2}{5}]\times capacity=16l$

$=\left[\frac{10-6}{15}\right]\times capacity=16l$

$=\frac{4}{15}\times capacity=16l$

$\therefore capacity=\frac{16\times 15}{4}=60l$

$1l=1000c{m}^3\therefore 60l=60000c{m}^3$

Volume of aquarium $=l\times b\times h$

$=60000c{m}^3=40\times 50\times h$

$h=\frac{60000}{50\times 40}=30cm$
