Area of the pavement = Area of the rectangle formed after making pavement $-$ area of the original rectangle.
$= L B - l b$
$= 50 + 3.5 \times 2 \times (35 + 3.5 \times 2) - 50 \times 35$
$= 2394 - 1750 = 644 m^{2}$
Threrefore cost of cementing this pavement $= 644 \times \frac{400}{8} = R s .32200$
