Solution

The correct option is D 60

Since, the Projectile is being released from a plane moving horizontally. So

Initial Speed of projectile = horizontal speed of plane

So, initial speed of projectile,
ux=5003 m/s and uy=0

Let's say it takes t second to reach the man.

Now using second equation of motion,

h=uy.t+12gt2

1960=(0×t)+12×9.8×t2

t=2×19609.8=400=20 s

In the same time it travels x distance horizontally

x=ux×t=5003×20

x=100003 m

From above diagram,

tanθ=xh=100003×1960=1.7=3

θ=60

Hence, option (d) is correct.
