A rent cylindrical to a height of 4.8m. and conical above it. the radius of the base is 4.5 m. and the total height of the tent is 10.8 m. Find the canvas required for the tent in square meters

Given: Height of the cylinder, h=4.8 m

Radius of the base, r=4.5 m

Total heightof the base, H=10.8 m

CSA of cone =πrl


l=(4.5)2+62=7.5

CSA of cylinder =2×π×r×h


=2×227×r×h

Canvas required = CSA of cone + CSA of cylinder [CSA = Curved Surface Area]

=(227×4.5×7.5)+(2×227×4.5×4.8)


=742.57+950.47


=241.84 cm2
