A resistance R, an inductance L and a capacitor C are all connected in series with an AC supply. The resistance is of 16 Ω and for a given frequency, the inductive reactance of L is 24 Ω and capacitance reactance of C is 12 Ω. If the current in the circuit is 5 A, find the potential difference across R, L and C in (V).

The correct option is B 80, 120, 60
The Potential difference across resistance is

VR=IR=5×16=80 V

The Potential difference across inductance is

VL=IXL=I×(ωL)

VL=5×24=120 V

Potential difference across capacitor is

VC=IXC=I×(1ωC)

VC=5×12=60 V

Hence, option (B) is correct.
