Question

A rocket is in the form of a right circular cylinder closed at the lower end and surmounted by a cone with the same radius as that of the cylinder. The diameter and height of the cylinder are 6 cm and 12 cm, respectively. If the the slant height of the conical portion is 5 cm, then the total surface area and volume of the rocket [Useπ=3.14] is 301.44cm2,377.1cm3 respectively
If true then enter 1 and if false then enter 0

Solution

Curved surface area of cylinder =2π(3)(12)=72πcm2
Area of circle =π32=9πcm2
curved surface area of cone =π(3)(5)=15πcm2
Total surface area of rocket =96π=301.7cm2
h2+32=52
h=4
Volume of cylinder =π32(12)=108πcm3
Volume of cone =13×π32(4)=12πcm3
Volume of rocket =(108+12)π=120π=377.14cm3
