Solution

Step 1: Finding the discount
Suppose, M.P of an article is ₹ x.

Rate of discount is 20% of x,

Discount =20100×x

Step 2: Finding the price of an article which is sold for ₹ 560

S.P. = M.P. - Discount

S.P. = x20100×x

₹ 560 =100x20x100

₹ 560 =80x100

x=560×10080

x= 700

Hence, the price of an article is ₹ 700 which is sold for ₹ 560.
