A shopkeeper buys an article at a rebate of 20% on its marked price and then spends Rs.300 on its transportation, etc. If he sells the article for Rs.4,160 (including sales tax at the rate of 4% of the marked price), find the shopkeeper's profit as per cent.

Rebate=20%
Then the money shopkeeper spend on buying=x20% of x+300
x0.20x+300=0.80x+300
S.P=4160(including sales tax)
Rate of sales tax=4%
x+4% of x=4160
x+4100x=4160
x+0.04x=4160
1.04x=4160
x=41601.04=Rs.4000
Profit=4000(.8×4000+300)=40003500=Rs.500
Profit%=5003500×100
=1007
=1427%
