A shopkeeper buys two T.V. sets of the same type. He sells one of them at profit 20% and the other at a loss of 5%. If the difference in selling prices is Rs.700, find the cost price of each T.V. set.

Let the C.P of each T.V set be Rs. $x$
$∴$ S.P of first T.V Set $= x + \frac{20 x}{100} = \frac{120 x}{100}$
S.P of second T.V Set $= x - \frac{5 x}{100} = \frac{95 x}{100}$
According to the question, difference in selling prices $= 700$
$∴ \frac{120 x}{100} - \frac{95 x}{100} = 700$
$\Rightarrow \frac{25 x}{100} = 700$
$\Rightarrow x = 2800$
Thus, C.P of each T.V set $=$ Rs. $2800$
