Solution

The correct option is D The shopkeeper loses by 4%

Let the S.P. of both the T.V sets be Rs. x.

Then, C.P. of the T.V set at a gain of 20% = Rs. 100×x120= Rs. 5x6

C.P. of the T.V set at a loss of 20% = Rs. 100×x80= Rs. 5x4

Total C.P. = Rs. (5x6+5x4)= Rs. 10x+15x12= Rs. 25x12

Total S.P. = Rs. 2x

Loss = Rs. (25x122x)=Rs. x12

Loss % =x1225x12×100=4 %
