Solution -

First fan at 20% profit in 1200 Rs

Cost price of first fan $=\frac{1200}{100+20}\times 100=1000Rs$

Second fan at 20% loss in 1200 Rs

Cost price of second fan $=\frac{1200}{100-20}\times 100=1500Rs$

Total C.P of fans = 2500 Rs

Total S.P of fans = 2400 Rs

% Loss $=\frac{2500-2400}{2500}\times 100=4\%loss$
