Solution

Selling price of 16 clocks = Rs 1570
The shopkeeper suffered a loss on selling 16 clocks of Rs 190.

We know that
Loss = Cost price – Selling price
⇒ Cost price = Loss + Selling price
= Rs 190 + Rs 1570
= Rs 1760
So, cost price of 16 clocks = Rs 1760
Cost price of 1 clock=176016=Rs 110
Hence, cost price of each clock = Rs 110
