A solid disc rolls clockwise without slipping over a horizontal path with a constant speed v, Then the magnitude of the velocities of points A,B and C with respect to a standing observer are respectively.

Solution

As this is a pure case of rolling without slipping the motion will possess two components of motion viz. translatory as well as rotatory motion.
We know that in translatory motion the speed remains constant at all points where as in rotatory motion the angular velocity will be positive at the top and negative at the bottom.
Thus the magnitude of A B and C will be 2v, v and 0 respectively.
