Solution

The correct option is B 1.47 L
Let the volume of NaOH solution be V mL.
5.00 mol of NaOH corresponds to 5.00×40=200.g of NaOH.
The density of NaOH is 1.131 g/mL.
V mL of solution corresponds to 1.131Vg of solution
The concentration of NaOH is 12.0% by mass.
Hence, 12.0×1.131V100=0.1357Vg of NaOH are present.
Thus, 0.1357V=200
V=2000.1357=1473mL=1.47L
Hence, the volume of the solution is 1.47 L.
