A solution is 500 mL of 2 M KOH is added to 500 mL of 2 M HCl and the mixture is well shaken. The rise in temperature T1 is noted. The experiment is then repeated using 250 mL of each solution and rise in temperatue T2 is again noted. Assume all heat is taken by the solution

The correct option is A T1=T2
As we know,
amountof heat released when one mole of strong acid reacts with one mole of strong base = -57.1 KJ
so when 500 mL of 2 M KOH is added to 500 mL of 2 M HCl,
amount of heat released = -57.1
Also. when 250 ml of 2M KOH is added to 250 ml of 23M HCl then amount of heat released = -57.1/2
also here volume ratio is 2:1, same as heat ratio so rise in temperature will be same.
