A solution of copper sulphate, zinc sulphate, lead sulphate and silver nitrate of same concentration are taken in beakers. A zinc rod is dipped in each solution separately. In which beaker(s) will you observe the displacement reaction?
Beaker A
Beaker C
Beaker D
In a displacement reaction, the high reactive metal displaces the less reactive metal from its salt. Since zinc is reactive than copper, silver, and lead, we will observe displacement reaction in beakers having copper sulphate, zinc sulphate and lead sulphate. In the beaker having solution of zinc sulphate, we won't observe displacement reaction.
